David Harbor first hinted in an interview with Collider that filming for season 5 of the show could begin in mid-2023. There are still several months of training left. However, since this will be the final season, filming is expected to begin in June.
We practiced a lot for the fourth season. That Russian prison was exactly where he [Hopper] was. However, these ambitions failed. The Duffers Brothers, known as the creators of Stranger Things, confirmed on Twitter that production on the show had been halted due to the Writers Guild strike.
It stinks in here. Even though filming has begun, the script is not yet finished. We can’t wait to start filming with our amazing cast and crew, but the strike has made that impossible. We want a quick and fair solution so everyone can get back to work. Until then, it’s over for now.

Sadie Sink was unconscious at the end of season 4, so it is unclear in what capacity she will appear, but it is likely that she will return as Max. Additionally, Joe Quinn’s beloved character Eddie Manson remains dead and it looks like he won’t be returning in season 5. Rumor has it that Season 5 will use digital techniques to age the current cast to make them look younger.
A new addition to the cast is Linda Hamilton, aka Sarah Connor from the iconic 1980s Terminator series. Her current role is unknown. Since this is the final season, it is expected that certain characters will not survive. Maya Hawke told Rolling Stone magazine, “Well, it’s the final season, so people are probably going to die,” adding, “When I die, I want to have my hero moment.” Similarly, I want to die with honor. But I admire the Duffer Brothers’ love for their artists. They fall in love with their actors and characters and don’t want to kill them. .That’s why they write so exquisitely for me and others.
It’s a beautiful quality they have and we don’t want to take that away from them. As for Noah Schnapp, she came out as gay shortly after revealing her sexual orientation in the character Will, so she might change her behavior a bit in Season 5. He told Variety that he thought he couldn’t do it. By then I will know exactly who I am. I’m really excited to gain all the knowledge about myself and use it to further develop my personality.
Ross Duffer said in the same interview, “Season 5 will really take center stage again.” We believe that this emotional journey of his ideally unifies the entire series. Will is younger, more withdrawn, and used to being the sheltered one. So there’s more to Will’s journey than just his seuality. This also means he comes into his own as a youngster.
