Odisha Public School Education Department releases various recruitment notifications every year to fill the vacancies and is planning to fill 1375 PGT Master Teacher vacancies in 2023 so that the organizational activities can function normally.

Eligibility Criteria for OPSC PGT Recruitment 2024

To qualify for OPSC PGT Recruitment 2024, candidates must fulfill certain criteria set by the Commission.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age Limit: 21 Years
• Maximum Age Limit: 32 Years
• For in-service applicants, the maximum age restriction will be 45 years old.
• The government’s relaxation of the upper age limit is applicable.

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have Master’s degree in relevant subject from a recognized university and completed 6 years integrated post graduate course or 2 years post graduate course from Regional College of Education recognized by NCERT.
• B.Ed candidates must have an equivalent degree from a recognized university recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi. Bed. Education is not required for teaching positions leading to graduation. The course is not offered.

Interview

• Candidates who meet the career assessment requirements will be invited for interview. The interview is of 30 marks.
• On the basis of final marks, which will be of qualifying nature, candidates will be selected for three times the total number of postgraduate teaching posts in each category (subject) and will be invited for personality test/interview.
• Based on the results of career assessment and personality test/interview, a final shortlist will be prepared for the specific category.

OPSC PGT Selection Process 2024

Job assessment, personality test and interviews will be conducted to select the applicants. A total of 100 marks are awarded.

Job assessment is 70 marks out of 100 and personality test/interview is 30 marks. As explained above, the following weights are used to determine the 70 job evaluation points.

• Career Assessment: 70 marks
• Matriculation: 10%
• Higher Secondary: 10%
• Bachelor Degree: 20%
• Post Graduation: 30%
• B.Ed: 30%
